Fir Ends Primary School

After around two years out of action, we've finally been able to restore  the playtrail with a new, relatively bouncy rubber surface and allow children back on it! 

The rest of the grounds are now a bit empty as all the children are on it...

The restoration was primarily funded through a combination of Sports Premium funding, a grant from the Hallburn Windfarm through Grantscape and over £2000 raised by children themselves at the start of this year.

Drainage and substrate were installed by Dan and Arthur Wigham (during the worst week of storms seen for years!) and the rubber laid this week by Billy Bounce (RTC Safety Surfaces).

There's still a little bit of finishing off to do at the edges, but it's great to see it back in action :-)
